Making sense of AI and innovation for the people who have to act on it

Nice to meet you. My name is Laurent Haug, and I work with entrepreneurs and executives who have to think clearly about technology — and turn that thinking into action.

I advise, speak, and invest at the intersection of AI, innovation, and business strategy. My clients include global corporations and fast-growing startups navigating what technology actually changes in their industry – and what it doesn’t.

What sets me apart: I use history as a lens. The steam engine took decades to fully reshape industry. The digital transformation follows the same pattern. AI will too. Understanding these timelines helps leaders avoid both hype and paralysis.

I founded the Lift Conference (Geneva, Seoul, Marseille 2005–2012), which helped structure Europe’s digital community. I created Paléofutur for Arte and RTS, exploring how past innovations illuminate our present. I spent a decade as WIRED UK’s Swiss correspondent.

Today I run 200ideas, where I advise companies, back entrepreneurs (portfolio includes WeFox, Faction, Caraway, and Cadence), speak at events from the World Economic Forum to corporate offsite retreats, and host conversations that go beyond the usual talking points.

In 2023, I founded Dragon des Alpes, a boutique champagne brand — because some ideas are best advanced with a glass in hand.
